Class Terms and Conditions

Our Class Terms and Conditions constitute a legal and binding contract, and by booking a class or purchasing a gift voucher with us you are you are agreeing to be bound by all provisions in the Class Terms and Conditions. 

This Agreement may be updated at any time. It is your responsibility to review the most recent version of this Agreement frequently and remain informed about any changes to it.

Reservation and cancellation policy

  • Payment in full is required at time of booking. If you wish to pay by cash or cheque please contact hello@eatandmess.co.uk for details.
  • Payment in full for groups is also required at time of booking.
  • If Eat and Mess cancel a class due to low enrollment or other extenuating circumstances, all participants will be notified to arrange for a credit towards another class or given a refund.
  • Eat and Mess may have to substitute food items based on availability.
  • Payments will be processed at time of booking. All Cancellations require a 5 day notice for a full refund or class credit. If you cancel less than 7 days before your scheduled class, Eat and Mess will not issue any refund, credit or class transfer.  Eat and Mess cannot provide refunds, credits or class transfers for classes missed as a result of illness, job loss, personal emergencies or events beyond our control.  You may send a friend in your place in any such circumstance.
  • Once you complete the booking process and Eat and Mess receive the payment, Eat and Mess will email you with confirmation of your booking to the email you provided.

Staying safe and healthy in our classes

  • You are responsible for telling Eat and Mess in advance if you have any medical and/or food allergies that may affect you when participating in a class.
  • You should be dressed comfortably but with safety in mind. No open-toed shoes are allowed. Clothing should not be loose. Jewelry should not be worn. Hair clips or bands for long hair should be worn.
  • You may register a child / children to participate in our classes, where it is stated the class is suitable for the relevant age range. The child / children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class, it is the adult’s responsibility that the child / children adhere to all Class Terms and Conditions.
  • For child specific classes and parties, one adult per six children must be present for the duration of the class.

Consent Form, Assumption of Risk, Waiver and Release

The class or classes I am registering to take with Eat and Mess are for the purpose of learning to bake, which involves preparing and baking food. Given the common dangers and use of tools and cooking instruments in a kitchen, I agree to hold harmless Eat and Mess, its employees, owners, chefs, food preparers, attorneys and assigns, from any and all liability, loss, claim, demand, action or cause of action which arises or may arise or be occasioned in any way by my participation in any class or those I stand guardian to participating in a class. I understand that the classes will involve food preparation and handling and that I am ultimately responsible for maintaining the quality of the food I prepare, cook and eat during any class. Furthermore, I understand that child watching and/or babysitting services may be available during classes, but any child watching or babysitting service during any class is not provided by Eat and Mess.

Recipes 

At the end of the course, the recipes and goods produced will be given to participants. The recipes remain the property of Eat and Mess. The dissemination of recipes, the property of Eat and Mess, is not allowed without the prior written consent of Eat and Mess. These recipes shall not be used for copying, reproducing or any commercial use. Such unauthorized dissemination, by whatsoever means, may lead to court proceedings.

Photographs and films

  • Eat and Mess authorises Customers to take photographs and videos during their classes. For any planned publication uses, the Customer shall firstly obtain written consent from Eat and Mess, which reserves the right to refuse such authorization and shall validate each published photo.
  • At Eat and Mess we produce a range of materials to promote our classes through both print and online channels. From time to time we take photographic images and short videos during classes to use in our marketing, enabling our audience to gain a better idea of the business and what a class might entail.
  • By booking a class and agreeing to our Class Terms and Conditions, you give us full permission to use the photographic images taken that reasonably promote Eat and Mess classes. (This may include printed publications; adverts; audiovisual and electronic materials; media work; social media; display materials; and any other media we may use in the future.) The images will not be used for any other purpose.
  • The copyright of any material which is generated as a result of this photographic session shall be assigned and shall be the property of Eat and Mess.

Confidentiality

All of your client’s information is confidential and will not be sold or given to any third party for any purpose without prior consent.
