Suitable for both the complete beginner, and confident home baker, you will learn how to make three different flavours and frosting recipes in this three hour class, including chocolate, red velvet and lemon sponge. You will also learn different decorative techniques to give your bakes a professional finish.

Skills learnt include:

  • making sponge cakes in domestic ovens and troubleshooting advice for the home baker
  • making and decorating buttercream and cream cheese frosting
  • general baking theory, including flavouring and dividing batters
  • piping bag and palette knife decorating techniques


Our classes are very informal but well structured, taught in small groups for maximum experience. There will be lots of hands on baking, overseen and demonstrated by the teacher. At the end of the class you will take home 15 beautiful cupcakes made entirely by yourself, in addition to recipes from the day.
