WHO IS EAT & MESS?  

I'm Kate Ampomah, owner and baker at Eat & Mess. Following an English degree at Cambridge University, I moved to America in order to complete a diploma specialising in Bread and Pastry, and begin my professional career in the bakery industry.

 

I set up the company after years working as a pastry chef in London and San Francisco in order to run workshops for the public, and to sell my own recipes with our signature flavours and design! We specialise in working with seasonal and locally sourced ingredients and heritage grains, and our small team is dedicated to small batch bakes and fresh produce with every order we produce in order to maintain our high standard.

We have a small trade bakery based on the sea front in Deal, where we produce stock for delivery all over East Kent, and also run our classes from.

 

A taste of Eat and Mess classes..

All classes and baking parties are taught in an informal kitchen environment with domestic ovens, overlooking the sea. Classes are designed to be informative and practical but relaxed, and students can expect lots of hands on skills taught over a cuppa and some brownies!
