Summer is here, and with it brings an array of beautiful seasonal ingredients to be used in baking and decorating. In this workshop we will be learning how to bake and decorate cakes with a fruity, floral approach to the art, using edible herbs and flowers to add a professional element to your baked creations. Practical skills will also be learnt along the way, including how to bake perfect cakes and decorate using Swiss meringue, with nozzles and palette knife to create your own unique style.
Over 3.5 hours, you will make and decorate:
White spelt, lemon, elderflower and almond layer cake with mascarpone Swiss frosting and fresh flowers
Rhubarb and pink peppercorn polenta slice with rose geranium
Kentish berry fruit tarts with tonka bean creme patissiere
We aim to provide a relaxed experience in which to enjoy learning some new skills... and enjoy brownies and exellent coffee from our neighbours at Blueprint too!
Please wear suitable footwear as we will be standing up whilst baking. Aprons and all equipment provided, and everything made in the session will be bagged up to take home at the end.
