Bento cakes originated in Japan with the word bento referring to a packed meal. These small cakes are made to be enjoyed individually or shared between two people, so they’re perfect for romantic picnics or taking to a friend’s house for a teatime indulgence. Of course, you could also enjoy a bento cake by yourself should you want to treat yourself to an extra special snack.
Our Bento Cake can be personalised with a message of your choice, such as ‘I Love You’, ‘Happy
Birthday’, ‘Congratulations’, or ‘My Valentine’. Messages can be up to four words in length due to the size of the cake, and you simply need to add your chosen inscription when ordering.
As with many of our Eat & Mess cakes, our Bento Cake comes in a choice of flavours, so you can choose the one you or your lucky recipient will enjoy the most. Flavour options include:
- Orange blossom and apricot
- Chocolate rye

- Carrot and walnut
- Lemon elderflower

While our Bento Cakes contain gluten, dairy, and eggs, we can make gluten-free or vegan version on request. Our Bento Cakes are made in our seaside bakery in Deal, Kent, and each one is carefully crafted by our small team. Cakes are available for collection or local delivery, and you can choose your delivery option when you place your order. When ordering your Bento Cake, please also include the date you require your tasty treat.
